APRIL
TTs are back
On Sunday 26th April, NTR Hosted the 10 mile time trial on M10 course at Cramlington. This was the first of 3 TTs being organized by the club. A field of over 60 riders took part, including myself ! We had great support from our members who helped marshal the course and ensure no one got lost en-route.

Club Rides
Our regular club ride schedule continued throughout April with midweek Monday gravel, Tuesday and Thursday road and the Wednesday Guidepost ride returned after the winter break. Our Sunday rides have included visits to Amble (Ethos Cafe) and the ever favorite Capheaton cafe.
An additional Off road Saturday ride from Darlington to North shields was a popular ride and very well attended. Some riders even rode there and back. Thanks to Derek Billham for arranging this one
Sad News
It is with deepest sadness that we write to share the devastating news that one of our fellow club members passed away following a road traffic incident on April 29th. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family.
MAY

Congratulations to our NTR team (Jamie Faram, Jamie Marshall, Justin Heath and Dan Robinson) who successfully finished the 108 miles of hilly hell that is Fred Witton. All four crossed the finish together in around 8 hours 38 minutes, which is I.M.P.R.E.S.S.I.V.E.

May 2026 Cycling trips
Several members have been away on organized club trips during May:
Hebridean Way – May 2026
Hebridean Way riders took on the 5 day challenge and had somewhat inclement conditions, but all reported having a great time and highly recommend the route. Many thanks to Tony Douglas for organizing this trip.

Majorca – May 2026
A trip to Majorca was arranged by Vicky G – around 20 NTR riders and friends joined the fun, arriving riding and leaving across a 10 day period. Based out of Puerto Pollensa, a variety of routes were covered – including the classic rides to Formentor, Sineu Velodrome, Randa, Sa Calobra plus a group also completed the Majorca 167km route. We also spent quite some time in Palms bar, our home from home and unofficial Majorca club house ! Weather was exceptional with very little rain during the week. It was a great to spend some time getting to know clubmates a little more. Our yellow club tops also received good feedback while out riding 🙂

JUNE
Saturday June 6th – NTR Seahouses Spring Classic
The was a rescheduled Seahouses date, moving to early June – and over 30 riders took on the challenge and rode to Seahouses via Alnick on the way up, and back via the coast to Tynemouth – 105 miles in total. Although raining slightly at the start, it was the wind, especially on the return leg that made it a very tough day out. But all riders completed the ride and were welcomed back to Tynemouth with free Pizza’s supplied by the club’s committee. Congratulations to everyone who completed our annual challenge .
