Beamish H.A.L.T (Humps and Lumps Training)

Welcome to Beamish H.A.L.T!
This is the lighter nights/summer version of H.A.L.T. Starting from the red arch for the Hadrian’s cycleway in Wallsend we shall cycle as a group to the Bike Hub (loads of free parking if you want to bring the car) on Newcastle quayside for a secondary pick up (6:45) before heading over the swing bridge to the hill cycling paradise of Kibblesworth and Beamish.
This is a no drop ride with front and back markers and we regroup at the top of each hill. Everyone climbs hills at different speeds so don’t worry you will be in good company. The ride is approx. 30 miles long with 6 climbs covering 2400ft of climbing but it doesn’t feel like it due to the downhill and flat sections between the hills.
Depending on numbers we may split in to ability groups. Don’t forget to bring some money for the post ride social debrief at the Tyne bar!!
**LIGHTS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THIS RIDE**
If the weather is not behaving itself we shall revert to the local Wallsend to North Shields H.A.L.T route for that night. Plenty of notice will be given in advance if this is the case.
